Giving slippers to the bare foot kids in Negros

A lot of kids in Negros (Philippines) are in real need. They go bare footed to school and write in banana leaves as a notebook.

Fortunately for them there is an international organization, with its Philippine branch pushing strong to help the less fortunate. That’s Domino Lux Way of Life: DLX.

President Marlon Ramirez has been leading the group for two years now and achieved to collect tons and tons of toys and goods to give away to the needed kids all over the country.

So from June 23 to June 30 they will be traveling around Negros Oriental and Occidental on this charity mission.

Why is this on my blog?

Because I’m gonna probably be a part of it as well soon.

Met brother Marlon Ramirez recently doing a charity work precisely for DLX, when I knew nothing about them.

Things always happen for a reason. When Marlon walked in the dressing room of the event where all the artists were and started his speech I was sleeping in a secret corner and not minding anything that happened there.

But something didn’t let me sleep anymore. My arachnid sense was telling me I was missing something important. So I stood up and sleepy walked towards them to hear the last words and clapping of the crowd. I didn’t know what happened really so asked the colleagues, who couldn’t really explain much. LOL.

Anyway we saw each other and connected awaking common interest. Well it sounds like a novel, but as I write it I discover what I felt and what I think we both felt. The organizer came fast to say “Sir Marlon, this is Kuya Manzano”. And I apologized for not hearing the speech and he had the interest enough to sit with me apart to chat about the organization and goals.

Made a good contact, gave him my number, saw him during the event happily taking pics with a non stopping smile. Well, that’s the kind of people I like!

Then met his friends and took lots of pictures and started unconsciously to get closer. The next day we are talking in Facebook. I’m researching about the organization in the net, reading all I find, he invites me in to meet more people and all seems so positive, and happy, and nice that I end up interested.

More chats have to come and possibly you’ll see me doing some charity events soon with DLX.

And the moral is...
Thank you Facebook for connecting people. And everything happens for a reason. And one thing leads to another. And I always keep on getting surprised with new events and directions in my life.
